Lebanon reports several deaths

At least ten people are said to have been killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon. Hezbollah fired rockets into northern Israel in retaliation.

According to Lebanese authorities, at least ten people were killed in an Israeli air strike in southern Lebanon, including a woman and two children. In response, Hezbollah said it fired numerous rockets into the neighboring country.

Attack on Israel

The Israeli military said it attacked a weapons depot belonging to the Lebanese Hezbollah militia in the Nabataea area during the night. The military also attacked with artillery pieces to eliminate a threat in other areas of southern Lebanon, it said.

One of the most fatal attacks

According to Lebanese information, five other people were injured in the incident in the Nabatea area, as the Lebanese Ministry of Health announced. Two of the injured are in critical condition. According to the information, the victims were mostly Syrian citizens.

It was one of the most fatal attacks on targets in Lebanon since the beginning of the 

Gaza war

An Israeli military spokesman said the target was a weapons depot belonging to the militant Islamist Hezbollah militia. Mohammad Shoaib, who runs a slaughterhouse in Wadi al-Kfur, said the area hit was an “industrial and civilian area.” There are factories there that produce bricks, metal, and aluminum, as well as a dairy.
